Hi everyone,

As promised, our website is now live, and you have all been migrated from our Google Groups mailing list to the WordPress-based one. Hopefully you will find it easier to manage than the previous one. For those for whom this is a surprise – welcome! You had asked to join our mailing list but not finished the sign up process!

There should be a link to the website at the bottom, added automatically, but just to be sure, our new website is thereidforthecommunity.org.uk.

When we post a news item on the website, we can choose to also send it to all of you at the same time. We can also just post on the website, or just email to you (which is what we’re doing here).

For news items that we share, you have the option to add a comment which will appear publicly on the website with the name you give at the time (as far as I can tell!) but your email will NOT be shown. Anyone can read the comments by going to the website, but they will not be emailed out to everyone, so no risk of a deluge of spam. If you comment, you can choose to be notified of any further comments though.

Finally, don’t forget to put our public meeting (Sunday 25th October, 4pm at the large hall at the Reid) in your diary – and tell everyone you know – local residents groups, friends and neighbours etc.
